Faint Solace

Faint Solace is a modern metal band from the Westland region (The Netherlands), featuring members Marcel Lagerwerf (vocals), Mark Burghout (bass), Dennis van Ruijven (guitar), and K41-R05 (drums). The music blends elements of metalcore and deathcore, characterized by tight riffs, heavy rhythms, and powerful vocals. Since its formation, Faint Solace has been working on a growing collection of original tracks and digitally released EPs. In 2023, the band released its first self-titled EP. The band is currently working on the release of their second EP, Conquering Demons, which will be fully released in 2026. For drums, Faint Solace uses a CPU-powered drummer named K41-R05 — an advanced drum bot built and trained by Professor Mountainwood. The bot does whatever it wants and refuses to be tamed; no one can stop it. This gives the band full freedom to write and produce music independently. The band writes and produces everything themselves and is focused on new releases and live performances. The lyrics are raw and honest, exploring themes such as personal struggle, resilience, and conquering inner demons. The music moves between crushing breakdowns, immersive harmonies, and atmospheric passages. With this dynamic approach, the band resonates with both fans of modern metal and listeners drawn to heavier, more traditional styles. Faint Solace continues to build a steadily growing catalog of EPs, carving out their own place in the contemporary metal scene.
